Live, Work, and Play in Raleigh
Neighborhoods Inside the BeltlineDid you know living in Raleigh means learning new vocabulary? If you ever hear Raleigh residents use the term "Inside the Beltline," they're simply referring to the area south of Interstate 440. The area ITB encompasses the entirety of downtown Raleigh, in addition to several of Raleigh's most prominent neighborhoods—Mordecai, Country Club Hills, and Moore Square being a few of the most popular. You can find historic homes dripping with character in Mordecai and new construction custom-designed homes in Country Club Hills.
With Raleigh being right down the road from the prestigious Research Triangle Park, it's no wonder the city was ranked number one on the 2015 Forbes list of “The Best Places for Businesses and Careers.” RTP is home to more than 300 companies and over 55,000 employees, making it the largest research park in the country. Job seekers can find everything from startups to tried-and-true science and technology firms at RTP. Raleigh's top employers include WakeMed and UNC Rex Healthcare, North Carolina State University, and Red Hat.
North Raleigh enclave
A mecca for entertainment, North Raleigh is the perfect place to settle down—and still have fun while doing so. Enveloping the area north of Midtown Raleigh, North Raleigh is home to tons of residential neighborhoods and more things to do than you can imagine. Whether you want to have the ultimate fun-filled day at Adventure Landing or take the adventure outdoors at Go Ape Treetop Adventure & Treetop Junior, you can be sure you'll never be bored here.
The big city of Raleigh is made small through its local events, in which its residents come together to celebrate everything from arts and crafts to craft beer. A staple summertime event, the Market at the North Carolina Museum of Art hosts a new selection of Raleigh area artists on the first Saturday of every month. If there's one event that comes to mind when you think of Raleigh, it's the North Carolina State Fair. Raleigh residents practically live at the state fair when it comes to town each October—seriously, we know people who go back day after day just to indulge in the fair's delectable food choices.
