Come explore Carrboro
Let us start by saying, you can find most of Carrboro's most cherished gems along its Main Street thoroughfare. Home to Carrboro's historic downtown district, East Main Street is a reflection of both the town's prized past and how far it has to come since then. When strolling along Main Street, make sure to pop in Honeysuckle Café & Bar for a quick energy boost and the Carrboro Farmers Market for the freshest produce around.
Art loves rejoice in Carrboro, where the town holds art walks on the second Friday of each month. Pretty much your personal art trail, you can attend the art walks to explore the town's many museums and art galleries. And if you really want to get a taste of this funky town, you can traverse the two-mile Cider Trail of the area's six most distinct craft breweries.
Play in Pittsboro
Encompassing more than 700 square miles of breathtaking nature trails and rolling farmlands, Pittsboro is essentially a playground in and of itself. Here, there are rows of crops farther than the eye can see and plenty of farmers to thank. There are about 1,100 farms in Chatham County, which distribute their fresh products to Pittsboro's farm-to-table restaurants and weekly farmers markets.
To fill any day with adventure, Pittsboro locals love to make the short drive to Jordan Lake State Park. The state park features seven swim beaches, plus there are nearly 14 miles of hiking trails wrapped around the lakeshore. And if you want to extend your day adventure into the night, you can pitch a tent at one of the recreation area's 1,000-plus campsites.
